Why I'm doing this blog;

Hey everyone.

I'm NHY and you might know me from my blog An Irishman Against Feminism. So, why, you might ask, I have started this blog?

For the past 3 years, I'm being receiving Orthodontic treatment in order to fix my teeth and my open bite.
This has included me wearing braces for nearly 2 years now, several fillings, removal of 4 teeth, ( 3 wisdom and one that was badly corroded ) all of which was preparing for this, one of the final steps; Am Operation on my Jaw

The reason this has being done is in order for me to be actually to close my mouth! ( well, I can but it requires concentration on my part! ) and to line up my teeth. I had a consultation with the professor who is to perform the operation on me last October, where I was informed that the operation was going to be done early next year ( this year ) at what date I would be informed.

Well, yesterday, they called and gave me the date; Monday, March 5th. Little more than a week notice! Well, this week coming is going to hectic for me, as I'll be making 2 visits to separate dentists to get my mouth ready for the operation. One is for a simple filling and the second is to the orthodontist to place special bars on my braces for which will be used for the elastics that will ( almost ) wire my mouth shut after the operation.

Am I anxious? Yes. This operation is going to change the look of my face, my bite and even how I talk! How much? I do not know. I'm also going to lose weight as a result of a change of diet during the recovery process, which will consist of soup, liquidized foods and er... more soup for the first few weeks. My social life is also going to take a hit as well, as due to swelling, my face will look like a balloon for the first week or two afterwards, and I will reluctant to show myself for a while afterwards.

However, right now, one of my main anxieties at the moment concerns college, as
due to the fact it may take up to a month for me to recovery properly, I may have to consider repeating the current year of my course, as if I fall too far behind on it, thats it, I'm screwed. ( I'm doing Graphic Design ) I plan to talk to both my year head and head of department about over the next week as I don't want to have to pay to repeat a year when it was due to me recovering after an operation!

Anyways,the reason I'm doing this blog is that I want to write about my anxieties and experiences before and after the operation. I hope other people who thinking of this procedure will find this beneficial too.
